The Ministry of Energy has warned that interruptions in electricity supply might be observed in a number of regions of Uzbekistan.
According to the forecasts of the experts of the Ministry and the information of "Uzhydromet", due to the pollution of the air with small dust particles, power generation might be lost due to the rains, which will be 70-90 percent of the monthly norm in the coming days, short-term interruptions in supply may happen.
"This is due to dust and dirt stuck on power lines, as well as high precipitation in the form of rain, which causes malfunctions that lead to interruptions in electricity transmission," the ministry said in a statement.
It is noted that short-term interruptions in electricity supply may be observed in Tashkent, Samarkand, Kashkadarya and Fergana regions, as well as in some districts of Tashkent city. Meanwhile, emergency brigades have already been formed in this regard.
