28 bus routes and tram traffic will be temporarily suspended in the city of Samarkand, during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, the Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs announced at the press conference dedicated to the high-level meeting.
The service of public buses number 4, 7, 15, 24, 37, 74, 93 and 99 will be altered. Yet, the taxi service companies will continue their operation unless the routes are discussed and changed.
The city authorities have no plans to close mosques in Samarkand during the SCO summit allowing the believers to perform prayers freely.
"If the situation in the mosques in the area close to the area where the summit will be held does not require Friday prayers, the congregation will be directed to the nearby mosque," said Khairulla Satorov, deputy chief imam of the Samarkand region.
