Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan Oybek Usmanov said on July 24 that the volume of trade between Uzbekistan and Pakistan will reach 1 billion dollars.
According to the Uzbek diplomat, the implementation of the Preferential Trade Agreement (PTA) between Pakistan and Uzbekistan continues.
It is important to work on the railway and road network for regional economic and trade integration.
This includes connecting the countries of the region, including China, Central Asia and South Asia in the field of trade, and developing economic relations with the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Usmanov emphasized the importance of road and railway connections in the development of mutual trade between the countries of Central Asia, especially Uzbekistan, China, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Due to this, the process of construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan (CKU) railway, which has been planned for twenty years, is about to begin.
This railway should connect with the Jalalabad and Peshawar railways from Termiz, Uzbekistan, and establish economic and trade relations with the countries of the region, including China, which is a major economic power.
