The XXV Asian WT Taekwondo Championship has come to an end in South Korea.
on June 27, Shukhrat Salayev, who competed in the -80 kg weight category, won the continental championship becoming the fourth gold winner from Uzbekistan at the XXV Asian WT Taekwondo Championship in South Korea.
In the final, Salayev defeated Salih al-Sharabati of Jordan, a silver medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics,
Thus, In addition to Salayev, Ulugbek Rashidov, Jasurbek Jaysunov and Nikita Rafalovich the Uzbekistan National team had snatched 1 silver and 2 bronze medals beating the hosts and taking the top of the podium in the team event for the first time in its history.
It is more gratifying to see Jasurbek Jaysunov being nominated for "Best Athlete", coach of the national team of Uzbekistan Pavel Khan for "Best Coach" and the national team of Uzbekistan for "Best Team".
