My Freighter, a cargo airline based in Uzbekistan, announced plans to invest in new freighters, particularly focusing on the Boeing 777-8F. Mamur Mamadaliev, First Deputy CEO and CCO, highlighted this strategy in an interview with STAT Media Group at the Air Cargo China 2024 event in Shanghai.
He stressed the company's goal to modernize its fleet with these advanced aircraft, emphasizing their efficiency and operational advantages compared to older models such as the Boeing 747F.
Mamadaliev acknowledged the industry-wide shift away from Boeing 747-400 freighters, noting the Boeing 777-8F's suitability as a successor in the freighter market.
However, Mamadaliev also highlighted potential challenges regarding the introduction of the B777-8F at Uzbekistan's airports, stressing ongoing discussions with local authorities to ensure seamless integration and operational viability.
Currently, My Freighter operates primarily with its existing fleet of Boeing 767 freighters, recently bolstered by a lease agreement with Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) for two additional Boeing 767-300ER (BCF) aircraft, bringing their total freighter count to five.
According to ch-aviation's fleet report, My Freighter's current fleet includes three aircraft: two B767-300ER(BCF)s and one B767-300ER(BDSF). The airline also manages a fleet of passenger aircraft through its subsidiary, Centrum Air (Tashkent International), consisting of three A320-200s and one A321-200NX, alongside one ACJ319-100N designated for government use.
Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Tashkent, My Freighter has rapidly expanded its operations within Uzbekistan and Central Asia, specializing in charter air cargo services. The airline's strategic vision includes establishing a "Modern Silk Road," facilitating air cargo connections from China to Europe through Central Asia.
Mamadaliev highlighted their current focus on routes connecting China, Europe, and the Middle East, with plans to expand into markets such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and potentially Australia from Hong Kong.
Furthermore, My Freighter aims to enhance its global footprint through upcoming interline agreements and prospective operations in North and South America, responding to robust cargo demand in these regions.
The airline recently announced its membership in the IATA Clearing House, a move expected to streamline financial transactions and foster collaborative partnerships within the industry.
