Kazakhstan's manufacturing sector has seen a growth of 8.7% since the start of the year, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov highlighted during a recent working meeting focused on the country’s economic development. The meeting emphasized key strategies to sustain industrial growth, particularly in light of the positive trend in the manufacturing industry.

Minister of Industry and Construction, Ersayin Nagaspayev, presented updates on ongoing efforts to align with the instructions of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. Nagaspayev reported significant progress in consolidating growth and increasing production volumes in various sectors.
For the January-March period of this year, Kazakhstan’s manufacturing industry has maintained a stable upward trajectory. Leading the growth were mechanical engineering, which saw a 17.7% increase, food production with a 13.2% rise, and finished metal products excluding machinery and equipment, which surged by 28.7%.
Additionally, the mining industry experienced a solid growth of 6.1%. The construction sector also posted impressive gains, with growth reaching 16.9%, driven by a rise in construction activities, including the building of schools, highways, railway lines, and engineering infrastructure.
Prime Minister Bektenov emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with domestic producers, particularly in the context of the National Project for the Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors. This initiative aims to further boost industrial capabilities and support sustainable economic growth.
In line with these developments, Kazakhstan's GDP grew by 5.8% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary data from the Bureau of National Statistics under the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms. The report also highlighted growth in key sectors, including transport (21%), construction (16.9%), industry (6.6%), and trade (6.3%).
