Kazakhstan has initiated the GLocal Promotion of SDG Localization in Kazakhstan project in Karkaralinsk, Karaganda region. The project, supported by the European Union, aims to enhance the quality of life and foster civil society development.
The project focuses on the Territorial Approach to Local Development (TALD) to localize the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in two pilot areas.
Nurghul Zhannazarova, an official from the Ministry of Economy, highlighted that the project encourages civil society and local authorities actively involved in creating and monitoring local development plans. The aim is to implement international standards that build inclusive communities and improve governance.
The project emphasizes local community participation to ensure the effective implementation of the SDGs, using public opinion to monitor progress and assess outcomes.
