Gazprom Neft is considering expanding its operations in Uzbekistan by building a network of gas stations under its brand. This was revealed by the company’s CEO, Aleksandr Dyukov, during the 7th Russian Energy Week.
“We are already active in Uzbekistan, supplying a range of petroleum products including gasoline, diesel fuel, lubricants, and bitumen. Now, we are exploring additional projects, including the possibility of establishing a branded gas station network," Dyukov shared.
He highlighted Uzbekistan’s rapid economic growth and the rising demand for petroleum products, describing it as a "promising market where presence is essential."
Additionally, Gazprom Neft plans to continue collaborating with Uzbekistan in the areas of hydrocarbon exploration and production.
"Our digital solutions have enabled the establishment of a drilling management center in Uzbekistan, significantly cutting down well construction time and costs," Dyukov noted.
The 7th Russian Energy Week, supported by the Russian Federation's Government, Moscow's authorities, and the Ministry of Energy, is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
In June 2024, Gazprom launched a representative office in Uzbekistan, aligning with the roadmap established in May by the Uzbek Ministry of Energy and Gazprom Neft to enhance cooperation. This step is part of a broader effort to bolster the operational presence and joint initiatives between the two entities.
In June 2023, Uzbekistan entered into a two-year gas purchase agreement with Gazprom. The agreement specifies a daily supply of 9mn cubic meters, amounting to an annual total of nearly 2.8bn cubic meters. Gas deliveries under this contract commenced on October 7, 2023.
