The Kyrgyz-Chinese Trade and Economic Cooperation Center officially opened in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, marking a new milestone in bilateral trade relations between the Kyrgyz Republic and the People's Republic of China. The event was attended by high-level officials, including Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry, and Zhao Gang, Governor of Shaanxi Province.
The center, spanning 1,000 square meters, is designed to host exhibitions showcasing Kyrgyz products, facilitate information exchange about the country, and provide a venue for business meetings between Kyrgyz and Chinese entrepreneurs. A key feature of the center is its 200-square-meter trade pavilion, which will permanently display and sell Kyrgyz products both offline and online through popular platforms such as Douyin, WeChat, and Pingduoduo.
In a gesture of support for strengthening trade relations, Xi'an City Hall has provided the 1,200-square-meter space to Kyrgyzstan rent-free for three years.
"This center and pavilion will greatly boost trade between our nations, giving Chinese consumers direct access to Kyrgyz products. We are grateful to China for this generous opportunity," said Bakyt Torobaev during the opening ceremony.
A business forum followed the inauguration, drawing participation from over 200 companies from Kyrgyzstan and Shaanxi Province. Government representatives and entrepreneurs delivered presentations on investment opportunities across key sectors, including industry, tourism, transport, and agriculture. The forum concluded with the signing of several investment agreements, signaling deeper economic cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, Bakyt Torobaev met with Zhang Wenqi, head of Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd, which operates in Kyrgyzstan. The two discussed ongoing collaboration in the mining industry and explored opportunities for expanding cooperation in processing industries.
