Tajikistan is set to boost its armored vehicle and special equipment production with a $15mn investment agreement between the government and Sipar Group, Avesta Tajikistan reported.
The agreement plans to establish the assembly of 17 special vehicle types at a Tajik armored vehicle plant, generating over 100 new jobs. In addition, the plant will have a production capacity of up to 120 special vehicles annually, with the potential to increase output based on demand.
This expansion aligns with Tajikistan's state program for accelerated industrialization (2020-2025). In May 2023, President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated the Sipar Guruh enterprise in Tursunzade, which specializes in the assembly and installation of both military and civilian special vehicles. The facility sources major components from the UAE-based STREIT GROUP.
The new vehicles are intended for the Tajik armed forces and future export markets. Minister of Industry and New Technologies Sherali Kabir highlighted that the armored vehicles produced in Tursunzade utilize Canadian technologies and meet high standards comparable to those of other Central Asian nations.
