Uzbekistan is becoming an increasingly popular destination for British tourists, with a 34.5% increase in visitors from Great Britain during the first half of 2024 compared to the same period last year.
According to the Agency of Statistics under the president of Uzbekistan, approximately 9,000 British tourists traveled to Uzbekistan from January to June this year.
Leisure and recreation are the primary motivations for British tourists, with 7,370 choosing Uzbekistan for a relaxing holiday. The country’s rich cultural heritage, historical landmarks, and stunning natural scenery are significant attractions. Additionally, 862 British visitors came to visit relatives, while 679 traveled for business purposes.
Although commercial, study, and treatment trips constitute a smaller portion of the total visits, the overall increase in British tourists reflects a growing interest in Uzbekistan’s diverse offerings.
The country’s blend of historical significance, vibrant culture, and unique landscapes continues to draw visitors from around the world.
Earlier it was reported that In 5M24, Uzbekistan attracted 10,600 American visitors. Of these, 8,446 came for leisure, with many being captivated by the historic cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, known for their impressive landmarks and architectural splendor.
