Bakhodir Jalolov, the champion of the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and a prominent representative of the Uzbekistan national boxing team, has successfully advanced to the quarterfinals on July 29, at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics. Jalolov's journey to secure a second Olympic gold began with a confident victory in his first fight.
In his opening bout, competing in +92 kg weight category, Jalolov faced Norwegian boxer Oman Shikha. Demonstrating his skill and dominance in the ring, Jalolov secured a decisive win, earning his place in the quarterfinals. This victory marks a promising start for Jalolov as he aims to replicate his success from the previous Olympics.
The quarterfinals are scheduled to take place on August 2, where Jalolov will continue his quest for another gold medal.
Earlier Daryo reported that Ruslan Abdullaev of Uzbekistan, competing in the -66 kg weight category at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, has advanced to the quarterfinals. Abdullaev earned his spot by defeating Mexico's Martinez Ramirez on July 29, with the judges unanimously declaring him the winner.
