In the first half of the year, 1.6bn kilowatts of "green" energy were generated, thanks to 10 solar and wind power plants with a combined capacity of 2.4 gigawatts. This significant achievement has resulted in saving half a billion cubic meters of gas, equivalent to $43,000, marking a milestone in the nation's commitment to sustainable energy.
In addition to advancements in green energy, Uzbekistan has made considerable investments in infrastructure. In 2024 alone, $2.71 bn (UZS 31.5 trillion) have been allocated from the budget for the enhancement of kindergartens, schools, medical facilities, roads, water, and electricity infrastructure. Moreover, an additional $129mn (UZS 1.5 trillion) are set to be allocated for further improvements in these areas.
The housing sector has also seen significant development. Since the beginning of the year, 18,600 new apartments have been built and commissioned, providing much-needed housing for the growing population. In the past six months, 26,000 families were granted mortgage loans amounting to approximately $602 mn (UZS 7 trillion). To assist these families, a subsidy of $46.87 million (UZS 545 billion) was provided to cover the initial payment and interest, making home ownership more accessible.
