Afghanistan's Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, Hayatullah Mohajer Farahi, stated that the country has over 370 active visual, audio, news agencies, and print media outlets. Farahi emphasized that the challenges faced by the media have largely been addressed, and there is no current pressure on them. He underscored that media outlets in Afghanistan should operate according to Islamic values, national interests, and Afghan culture.
However, some journalists are demanding solutions to various issues, including access to information and the implementation of the mass media law. Journalist Rohullah Alizai emphasized the need for support for journalists, urging the government and relevant institutions to fulfil their duties to ensure a conducive work environment for journalists.
Previously, the Ministry of Information and Culture announced that 10 new radio stations had launched broadcasts in various provinces in 2024.
