President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed condolences to the Supreme Spiritual Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei, following the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. The incident, which also claimed the lives of Raisi's companions, occurred in northern Iran, according to the president's press service.
In his message, President Mirziyoyev noted the contributions of President Raisi to the development of cooperation and partnership between Uzbekistan and Iran. He stated that Raisi’s efforts will be remembered by the peoples of both nations.
President Mirziyoyev extended his sympathy and support to the people of Iran, as well as to the relatives and friends of the victims.
Earlier, it was reported that the helicopter crash, which involved President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, resulted in no survivors.
