The panel session during Tashkent International Investment Forum in on May 2, delved into the multifaceted aspects of economic ties between the two nations of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan. Moderated by Sardor Mukhammedaliev, founder of Biz Network, the session provided a comprehensive analysis of the ongoing economic cooperation and explored avenues for further advancement.

Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov emphasized the profound historical friendship and cultural unity between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, laying the foundation for robust economic relations. Reflecting on the progress made in recent years, Minister Jabbarov highlighted the significant growth in trade facilitated by specialized trade policies and improved transport communications between the two countries.
He remarked, "The history of cooperation began two years ago when a special trade policy was introduced for Uzbek goods. Over these two years, we have achieved significant growth in this area. More than 300 tons of various goods have been transported between our countries by road and rail. Transport communication has facilitated trade and cooperation between our countries."
The panel session served as a platform for constructive dialogue aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.
Earlier Daryo reported that Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan are preparing for an upcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev hosted Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov from Azerbaijan on May 1.
