President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed a delegation led by Vice President Javdat Yilmaz of Turkey on May 1, as they gathered for discussions amid the third Tashkent International Investment Forum, presidential press service reported.
At the onset of the meeting, Vice President Yilmaz conveyed warm regards and best wishes from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to President Mirziyoyev, highlighting the amicable relations between the two countries.
Discussions revolved around the current state and future prospects of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the ongoing dialogues across various levels, indicating a robust and evolving relationship. Tthere has been a notable increase in trade volume, joint projects, establishment of enterprises, and the facilitation of direct flights between the two countries.
Emphasis was placed on the significant investment projects underway, particularly in key sectors such as energy, mining, food, and textiles, with the active participation of leading Turkish companies.
Of particular importance was the discussion surrounding the agenda for the forthcoming meeting of the High-level Strategic Cooperation Council. Both parties underscored the importance of formulating a new portfolio of cooperation projects and enhancing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
Set for May 2-3, 2024, in the bustling capital of Uzbekistan, TIIF-III is poised to be a significant assembly for investors, policymakers, and industry influencers worldwide.
