Uzbekistan and GCC discuss forthcoming second summit in 2025
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan welcomed Jassim bin Mohammed al-Budaiwi, Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf, on April 15, presidential press service reported.
During the meeting, discussions centered on advancing constructive dialogue and reinforcing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). President Mirziyoyev expressed satisfaction with the multifaceted collaboration between the two regions and commended the fruitful outcomes of the second meeting of foreign ministers held in Tashkent.
Attention was also directed towards the progress in implementing agreements established during the inaugural summit of Central Asian countries and Gulf Arab states, which took place in Jeddah the previous year. The parties underscored the significance of these agreements and deliberated on initiatives and proposals put forward by Uzbekistan, particularly in the domains of investment, trade, high technologies, and tourism.
Of notable importance was the discussion surrounding the forthcoming second summit, scheduled to take place in Samarkand in 2025. Matters pertaining to the summit's agenda were deliberated upon, reflecting the commitment of both Uzbekistan and the GCC to further deepen their collaboration and strengthen regional ties.
