Air Astana Group, the flag carrier of Kazakhstan, has announced a strategic partnership with Neos on April 15, an Italian leisure airline, marking a significant step towards enhancing connectivity between Italy and Kazakhstan.
The collaboration encompasses various areas of cooperation aimed at enhancing the travel experience for passengers. Key components of the partnership include a code-sharing agreement covering Neos flights between Milan and Almaty, as well as reciprocal agreements for flights in the opposite direction. This initiative will offer passengers greater flexibility and convenience when traveling between Italy and Kazakhstan, with a wider range of flight options to choose from.
In addition to the code-sharing agreement, the partnership entails the exchange of technical and operational knowledge between Air Astana and Neos. This includes cooperation in maintenance services for Boeing aircraft, leveraging the expertise of both airlines to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency in aircraft operations.
Moreover, the strategic partnership extends to exploring the possibility of establishing a joint venture for routes between Italy and Kazakhstan. However, the implementation of this initiative is subject to regulatory approvals from relevant authorities, including antitrust and government agencies.
Peter Foster, Chief Executive Officer of Air Astana, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing its potential to enhance the travel experience for mutual customers. He highlighted the partnership's significance in providing Air Astana passengers with increased flexibility, convenience, and choice of flights between Kazakhstan and Italy.
