A tunnel connecting Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan has been uncovered by authorities in the Jalalabad region, as disclosed by AKIpress on March 20.
Officials from the State Committee for National Security discovered an underground passage leading to Uzbekistan in the residence of an individual residing in the village of Bekobad, Suzoq district. This clandestine tunnel served as a conduit for the illicit transportation of goods and individuals.
E.A., the homeowner suspected of orchestrating the smuggling operation through the tunnel, has been apprehended. Currently, authorities from the National Security State Committee are in the process of identifying all individuals involved in the organization of the tunnel's usage, as well as those who illegally crossed the Kyrgyz border and the nature of goods unlawfully transported into the republic.
