In the first two months of 2024, Uzbekistan's major taxpayers have contributed to the country's revenue, with more than UZS 17 trillion ($1.3bn) collected from 2,186 large taxpayers.
Among the top 10 large taxpayers, the state's share amounted to a substantial UZS 8.7 trillion ($694mn). Leading this group is the Navoi Mining Metallurgical Company, which alone contributed UZS 4.5 trillion ($359mn), making it the highest taxpayer in this category. Other contributors include the Almalyk Mining and Metallurgical Complex, HUDUDGAZTA'MINOT, UZBEKNEFTEGAZ, UzGasTrade, Navoiuranium, UzAuto Motors, UzTransGaz, Uztelecom, and Buxoro Neftni Qayta Ishlash Zavodi.
In the private sector, the top 10 large taxpayers accounted for UZS 1.3 trillion ($103mn). Topping this list is the "UZ BAT" with a contribution of UZS 436bn ($34mn). Other prominent private sector contributors include Enter Engineering, Tashkent Tobacco, KapitalBank, HamkorBank, Gid License Plate, Unitel, Coca-Cola Bottlers Uzbekistan, Universal Packing Masters, and Techno Continental.
These figures highlight the diverse sectors from which tax revenues are generated, ranging from mining and metallurgy to finance, telecommunications, and consumer goods. The substantial contributions from both state-owned enterprises and private companies indicate robust economic activity within the country.
The data also reflects Uzbekistan's ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and foster a business-friendly environment. Recognizing the contributions of top taxpayers is essential not only for revenue generation but also for incentivizing continued investment and economic growth.
