Turkmenistan's Academy of Sciences is to open the "Oguz Han" Science and Technology Centre, which will develop products in the field of innovative nano, bio and information technologies, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
The centre, which will be based at the Ashgabat University of Engineering and Technology, will also work on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, computer and mobile applications and electronic equipment.
The issue was discussed at a government meeting where President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree to this effect.
The document was signed in order to study the world's best practices in creating international innovation centres and technoparks, as well as to implement the tasks defined in the "Action plan for the development of international cooperation aimed at attracting high and innovative technologies to the economy of Turkmenistan".
