In a move aimed at enhancing water supply and sewage services, "Uzsuvtaminot" has forged partnerships with 10 esteemed foreign organizations, Uzsuvtaminot reported. The collaborative effort, which includes entities such as DB, OTB, EBRD, AIIB, IsDB, OPEC, AFD, SFD, DEUTSCHE BANK, and SUEZ, marks a pivotal step towards advancing infrastructure development in Uzbekistan.
The meeting convened at "Uzsuvtaminot," with the participation of Acting Deputy Chairman of the Board, Jahangir Nurmukhamedov, alongside representatives from the aforementioned international organizations and relevant stakeholders. The gathering provided a platform to delve into the current status of collaborative projects and chart future trajectories.
Discussions encompassed a comprehensive review of ongoing projects, with an emphasis on addressing queries from partnering organizations and incorporating their valuable insights. Each project presentation was met with thorough scrutiny, ensuring clarity and alignment among all stakeholders.
A noteworthy aspect of this collaboration is the magnitude of projects being undertaken, totaling $2.4bn in investment. These projects span various critical areas, including the establishment and refurbishment of water networks, treatment facilities, distribution systems, and sewage networks.
Specifically, the initiatives entail the construction of 9975.8 km of water network, 20 water intake facilities, 9 water treatment facilities, 260 water distribution facilities, 204 water intake wells, 143 water towers, and 145 water storage facilities. Moreover, the plan encompasses the development of 3381 km of sewage network, 36 wastewater treatment facilities, and 306 pumping stations.
The anticipated impact of these endeavors is significant, with projections indicating improved access to clean drinking water for 4.9 mn people and the provision of a centralized sewage system benefiting 3 mn individuals across Uzbekistan.
Jahangir Nurmukhamedov expressed his satisfaction with the collaborative efforts and emphasized the commitment to fostering stronger ties in the future. The meeting concluded on a positive note, underscoring the collective resolve to advance the nation's water infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its citizens.

The establishment of the "Uzsuvtaminot" was initiated in accordance with the Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 26, 2019, No. DP-5883, aimed at enhancing the management of water resources to elevate the level and quality of drinking water for the populace. Additionally, it was formalized by the order of the State Assets Management Agency under order No. 3k-PO dated March 9, 2020, thereby constituting it as a Joint-stock company.
The charter of the JSC was duly registered at the Center of Public Services of the Yunusobod district of Tashkent on March 11, 2020, bearing registration number 827035. The primary objectives of the JSC include further improving water supply and sewerage systems, ensuring rational utilization of drinking water resources, facilitating the participation of Limited Liability Companies (LLCs) in the construction and reconstruction of water supply and sewerage facilities, prompt response to accidents, and provision of other services as stipulated by law.
Regarding the composition of shareholders, the State Assets Management Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan holds 100% ownership of the shares.
