In the ongoing battle against hepatitis C, Uzbekistan has received the fourth batch of the drug "Sofosbuvir-400mg" from Egypt. The delivery, comprising 6,720 units of the medication, was reported by Dunyo news agency.
Throughout the year 2023, a portion of these medications, valued at $696,000, were gradually dispatched to Uzbekistan to support efforts in combating these diseases.
On February 10, 2024, Uzbekistan Airways facilitated the delivery of the fourth shipment of Sofosbuvir-400mg, designated as humanitarian aid from the Egyptian government to Uzbekistan. The medication, totaling 6,720 units, was transported from Sharm el-Sheikh to Tashkent. These medications, housed in 12 boxes, will be distributed to patients at the Research Institute of Virology under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
This humanitarian initiative stems from the agreements forged during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt on February 20-21, 2023.
