The Working Group assembled at the international forum "Kazakhstan-Bashkortostan" on January 24 to deliberate on key issues fostering the relationship between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Bashkortostan, the Ministry of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan reported.
Chaired by Kanat Sharlapaev, the Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, and Andrey Nazarov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan, the meeting centered around reviewing the progress of the jointly developed Road Map for 2023-2024. This roadmap aims to fortify bilateral ties across various sectors of the economy.
A pivotal topic of discussion was the collaborative ventures in agriculture. Both parties affirmed their commitment to broadening cooperation in this sector, emphasizing knowledge exchange, technological sharing, and the initiation of joint agricultural projects.
Vice Minister of Industry and Construction of Kazakhstan, Ilyas Ospanov, highlighted the substantial potential for expansion in mechanical engineering, chemical, and mining industries. Ospanov stressed the importance of coordinated efforts from all stakeholders to successfully implement the Road Map, acknowledging significant strides made thus far.
Rustam Muratov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government and Minister of Economic Development and Investment Policy of Bashkortostan, echoed Ospanov's sentiments. He expressed confidence in leveraging Kazakhstan's best practices to achieve even more dynamic results. Muratov emphasized the significance of digitalization, proposing the creation of a platform to enhance business operations in Bashkortostan.
The meeting delved into prospects for collaboration in the tourism sector, with both sides underscoring the need for joint projects that promote increased tourist flow and cultural exchange between the two republics.
Because of its advantageous geographical location and sociocultural context, Bashkortostan plays a crucial role in advancing economic and political collaborations between Russia and Kazakhstan. As pointed out by Andrey Babko, the Russian Trade Representative in Kazakhstan, Bashkortostan has emerged as the frontrunner among the 84 Russian regions engaged with Kazakhstan, underscoring Ufa's distinctive role in the economic relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.
