In the ongoing court proceedings at "Dok-1 Max," officials, including the state prosecutor, revealed that the number of children who lost their lives due to the syrup has risen to 68. This information, differing from the initial figures announced by the Supreme Court, was disclosed during a court session, as reported by a journalist from "Daryo" who was present.
The latest court session, convened on January 10, focused on clarifying the identities of 23 defendants involved in the case, along with an explanation of their rights and obligations.
During the preceding court session, it was highlighted that a new criminal case had been added to the existing charges, consolidating them into a single case. The prosecutor, presenting the accusations, stated that the death toll from the syrup has now reached 68, indicating a change from the figures initially reported by the Supreme Court.
During a previous hearing related to the syrup case, Mamatqul Azizov from the Children's Multidisciplinary Medical Center of the Samarkand region announced that 66 individuals had succumbed to the effects of the syrup. Moreover, an additional deceased child was identified, previously excluded from the list of casualties.
The ongoing investigation, as detailed in the supplementary criminal case, indicates that 16 more children suffered severe injuries, while 2 minors sustained minor injuries due to the consumption of the "Dok-1 Max" syrup.
