In the ongoing criminal case linked to the "Dok-1 Max" syrup, which is implicated in the deaths of at least 65 children in Uzbekistan, a significant development occurred during the latest court session. Madina Tolboyeva, the mother of 2.5-year-old Saliha Mahmanazarova, who lost her life on January 19, 2023, after being poisoned by the said syrup, provided her testimony.
During her emotional testimony at the court session on November 13, Madina Tolboyeva recounted the events leading to her daughter's demise. She shared that Saliha was a healthy and resilient child with no chronic illnesses. In November 2022, Madina withdrew her daughter from kindergarten for a week due to the flu but later returned her after recovery. When faced with another bout of coughing, Madina sought an alternative to antibiotics and, at the pharmacist's recommendation, opted for "Dok-1 Max."
Upon administering the syrup to her younger daughter, and taking a dose herself, Madina observed positive effects. Encouraged by the initial improvement, she requested more syrup from her husband, believing it to be beneficial. However, after receiving a warning on Telegram about the syrup's potential dangers, Madina became concerned.
She promptly visited a clinic, showing the medicine to a doctor who downplayed the issue, attributing her child's condition to a common flu. Despite taking antibiotics, Saliha's health deteriorated. Madina sought medical attention again, but her child's condition worsened, prompting her to visit a private clinic in Karshi.
The private clinic refused admission due to the child's critical condition and directed Madina to a children's hospital. However, the doctor at the children's hospital declined to accept the patient. Faced with desperation, Madina rushed her child to an emergency room, where, after administering the "Dok-1 Max" syrup, her daughter's critical state led to a referral to Tashkent city.
Tragically, Saliha fell into a coma within five days of hospitalization and passed away on January 19, 2023. Distraught and grieving, Madina Tolboyeva pleaded with the court for severe punishment for those responsible, emphasizing the innocence and right to a joyful life that her daughter deserved.
