The Consul General of Uzbekistan, Alisher Salomov, engaged in a diplomatic meeting with Rashid Abdulla Al Qaseer, Deputy Head of the Dubai Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Dunyo reports.
The discussions encompassed crucial matters pertaining to the ongoing collaboration between Uzbekistan and the UAE, with the Emirates expressing high regard for the flourishing partnership with Uzbekistan.
Towards the conclusion of the meeting, the UAE representative conveyed gratitude to Alisher Salomov for his productive five-year tenure as the Consul General of Uzbekistan in Dubai. Alisher Salomov assumed the role of head of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Dubai in January 2019.
In related developments, Amirsaid Agzamkhojayev has been appointed as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Poland, while Javlon Vahobov, the former ambassador of Uzbekistan to the USA, takes on the role of the new director of the International Institute of Central Asia.
Notably, the diplomatic relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates were established on October 25, 1992. In 1992, the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan began functioning in Dubai. In 2007, the Embassy of Uzbekistan opened.
