In a notable stride toward international collaboration in the field of zoology, the Director of the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Qiao Gexia, and the Director of the National Zoological Museum of China, Professor Chen Jun, recently visited the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan reported.
Their visit coincided with an international conference on “Science – the Foundation of New Uzbekistan,” commemorating the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan.
Director Bakhtiyor Kholmatov of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan engaged in discussions with distinguished guests on various aspects of bilateral cooperation. The focal points included collaboration with the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, opportunities for doctoral research for young Uzbek scientists in China, and the initiation of new joint projects.
One of the significant outcomes of the discussions was the agreement to establish a joint Uzbekistan–China Center at the Institute of Zoology. Additionally, plans were set in motion to open joint laboratories based on the institute, emphasizing the commitment to fostering collaborative research endeavors between the two nations.
The collaboration between Uzbekistan and China has evolved into a pivotal strategic partnership, influencing ongoing reforms, economic modernization, and the overall well-being of their populations. The diplomatic ties between the two nations have been a cornerstone of Uzbekistan's foreign policy, contributing significantly to its economic activities.
This recent development in the field of zoology aligns with the broader spectrum of collaboration between the two countries. Earlier Daryo reported that Tashkent recently hosted the Uzbekistan – China Business Forum, organized by the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan. The forum aimed to fortify and deepen trade relations between the two nations, bringing together key stakeholders from sectors such as logistics, food and beverages, and agriculture.
