The resolution regarding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, presented by Egypt and Mauritania, was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly. The resolution, which garnered support from 153 countries, including Uzbekistan, emphasizes the need for a ceasefire, UN press service reports. However, 10 countries, including Israel, the USA, and Austria, expressed objections to the resolution.
As reported by the UN, countries such as Russia, Iran, China, Brazil, Spain, Cuba, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, France, Switzerland, and Sweden voted in favor of the ceasefire. On the other hand, 23 countries, including Great Britain, Germany, and Ukraine, abstained from voting.
Other Central Asian countries voted the same as Uzbekistan, except for Turkmenistan.
During the assembly, the USA and Austria proposed amendments that were ultimately rejected. The first amendment aimed to condemn the Palestinian movement Hamas, while the second focused on the issue of hostages held by Hamas and other groups.

The key points of the adopted document include the call for a ceasefire and adherence to international law. Specifically, it urges the release of all hostages and the delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Notably, on December 9, the United States exercised its veto power at the UN Security Council meeting, opposing the resolution for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The US was the sole member to vote against the resolution submitted by the UAE delegation. Thirteen countries, including Russia, China, and France, voted in favor, while Britain abstained.
