Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, has underscored that the enhancement of relations with Pakistan is contingent upon the presence of vigilant leadership in the neighboring country.
This announcement, reported by Sputnik Afghanistan, comes in response to a statement by Pakistan's interim Prime Minister, Anwar ul Haq Kakar, who suggested that problems related to Afghanistan could be alleviated with the establishment of a legitimate government in Kabul. Kakar noted the considerable financial investments in Afghanistan over the past two decades but highlighted the absence of a robust central government.
In response, Mujahid articulated in an interview with the BBC that Afghanistan operates under a legal system promoting unity among its people. He asserted the Taliban's aspiration to foster positive relations with all nations, emphasizing a particular interest in cultivating goodwill with Pakistan.
The backdrop of these statements is a discernible increase in tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan since the formation of an interim government in the latter.
