Recognizing the untapped sports potential of the region's youth, President Mirziyoyev directed efforts towards developing a draft decision to attract the youth of Surxondaryo to various sports. A proposed allocation of UZS 30bn ($2.4mn) is intended to fund initiatives like the establishment of a base for kayaking and canoeing in the "Uchkizil" reservoir.
Local industrial products were showcased during the visit, and investment projects valued at $4.6bn are currently underway in the Surxondaryo region. Of this, $4bn constitutes foreign direct investment. These projects span energy, chemical, mining, building materials, textile, and other industries, promising the creation of value-added products and tens of thousands of jobs.
President Mirziyoyev expressed his vision for the expansion of such industrial zones to every district in the region, alongside a broader focus on enhancing handicrafts and home-breeding initiatives. Drawing on the success of the past two years, he tasked officials with formulating a special decision for the development of youth entrepreneurship in Surxondaryo, proposing an allocation of $50mn for this purpose.
