In a recent press conference held in Tashkent on November 9, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Switzerland to Uzbekistan, Konstantin Obolensky, expressed gratitude towards the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of Uzbekistan.
The occasion, known as Switzerland Days, provided a platform to highlight the growing collaboration between Switzerland and Uzbekistan, particularly in the realm of infrastructure development.

Ambassador Obolensky emphasized the significance of infrastructure in Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms, stating,
"With the current reforms, Uzbekistan is investing a lot in the modernization of its infrastructure. These are investments that pave the way for further development of the country. These investments must be promising and sustainable."
During Switzerland Days, the spotlight was on Swiss expertise, renowned for state-of-the-art craftsmanship, precision, quality, and longevity. Ambassador Obolensky highlighted the potential benefits of integrating Swiss experience and know-how into Uzbekistan's development initiatives. He stated,
"Our companies ensure and deliver quality, innovation, and reliability."
Swiss companies, operating across various sectors in Uzbekistan, bring a diverse range of products and services. Ambassador Obolensky noted,
"Currently, about 40 Swiss companies are operating in Uzbekistan in the following fields: from the pharmaceutical sector to logistics, food, beverage, engineering, water management, textile machinery, and infrastructure."
A notable aspect of this collaboration is the increasing interest of Swiss companies in exporting modern products and services to Uzbekistan. The Ambassador underlined this trend, saying,
"Swiss companies are clearly interested in importing modern products and services to Uzbekistan, and this interest is increasing."
The ambassador also commended the progress made in the economic relationship between the two countries, revealing that Switzerland entered the top twenty exporting countries to Uzbekistan for the first time last year. He expressed confidence in the potential for further development in private sector cooperation between Switzerland and Uzbekistan, stating,
"I am sure that the time has come to take advantage of the potential of further development of private sector cooperation of our countries."
Acknowledging the collaborative efforts, Ambassador Obolensky extended his gratitude to the Government of Uzbekistan and various agencies, including the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of Uzbekistan, for their role in facilitating this partnership. He specifically mentioned,
"I am very grateful to the Government of Uzbekistan and various agencies, including the Council of Foreign Investors under the President of Uzbekistan, who are helping to realize this potential."
Switzerland Days, being held in Uzbekistan for the second time, serve as a testament to the growing economic ties and mutual cooperation between the two nations.
