The government is taking steps to support greenhouse farms and exporters of agricultural products, including renting warehouses abroad for their use. The Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade in collaboration with embassies in various countries, will work on proposals for the rental of spacious warehouses for the export of agricultural products. Funding for this initiative will be allocated from the budget and managed by the Export Promotion Agency.
These rented warehouses will be made available for operational management by trading companies at no cost. Details about the warehouses, their available space, and contact information for the companies will be published on the agency's website. The government investment commission will establish the rental procedures and identify products that can be stored in these warehouses without charge, with approval expected within a month.
The primary focus is to secure warehouses in regions with high demand for Uzbek agricultural products, including Moscow, Orenburg, Ufa, and Novosibirsk in Russia.
Additionally, the government will provide financial support to greenhouses, covering up to 50% of expenses related to hiring foreign specialists such as agronomists and entomologists to enhance product quality and productivity, with a maximum compensation of $1,000 per specialist.
Plans are in place to establish an experimental logistics center for sorting and packaging fruits and vegetables in the Bukhara region by August 2024, utilizing moisture-resistant paper produced using Italian technology. Furthermore, by the end of the next year, a center for innovative "smart agriculture" technologies will be launched with the assistance of South Korean experts, fostering the creation of "smart" greenhouses for training and testing purposes across five regions.
