Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed measures to streamline trade in environmentally friendly products within the International Forum "Belt and Road" in Beijing. Mirziyoyev expressed his support for the "Green Silk Road" initiative, emphasizing the vulnerability of Central Asian nations to climate change and its related effects such as droughts and dust storms.
To facilitate the transition to a low-carbon economy and encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly technologies, Mirziyoyev suggested the establishment of a "green" financing fund within Uzbekistan. He also called for the removal of trade restrictions on "green" products, thereby promoting their wider circulation and accessibility.
Mirziyoyev proposed the creation of a demonstration technopark in the Aral Sea region, wherein Chinese and other companies would be actively involved. This technopark aims to drive industrial and social programs based on environmentally sustainable technologies.
In his address, the president urged intensified efforts within the "Belt and Road" framework to develop renewable energy sources. He also put forth the idea of establishing a scientific and information platform to facilitate the exchange of "green" knowledge and solutions.
Addressing the need for skilled personnel in the environmental sector and sustainable development, Mirziyoyev proposed the organization of training programs and knowledge exchange at the Central Asian University of Environmental Studies and Climate Change.
These initiatives presented by President Mirziyoyev reflect Uzbekistan's commitment to promoting environmentally conscious policies and fostering a sustainable future.
