The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, continued his series of meetings with leaders of Chinese companies, underlining the commitment to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. In his latest high-profile meeting, President Tokayev sat down with Zhu Hexin, the Chairman of the Board of CITIC Group, to discuss a range of vital industries such as energy and the petrochemical sector, reinforcing the already robust ties between Kazakhstan and CITIC Group.
President Tokayev expressed his contentment with the trajectory of the partnership, stating;
"Our regular meetings indicate the strategic nature of our cooperation. In May of this year, CITIC Construction signed 5 documents with Kazakh partners on the implementation of projects with a total investment of $2bn. One of the key projects is the expansion of the production capacity of the Aktau bitumen plant Caspi Bitum for oil refining to 1.5 mn tons per year. I was informed that a corresponding agreement was signed between Kazmunaigas and the CITIC group. Considering your extensive experience in construction, I believe that the project will be implemented efficiently and in a short time."
These projects not only represent significant investments in the Kazakh economy but also reflect the deep commitment to cooperation in sectors critical to the nation's growth. The collaboration between CITIC and Kazakh partners in the energy and petrochemical industries serves as a prime example of how the two nations are coming together to drive development.
Zhu Hexin, Chairman of the Board of CITIC Group, reciprocated the sentiments and expressed his corporation's deep appreciation for the mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan. He emphasized the significance of the partnership and the corporation's commitment to further deepening their cooperation, saying;
"Our corporation CITIC successfully operates in Kazakhstan. It is a great honor for me and my colleagues to meet with you today. The main goal of all our work is to deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan."
The discussion did not end with the energy and petrochemical sectors alone; prospects for further cooperation were explored, extending into the realm of investments and the agro-industrial complex. This signifies the breadth of potential cooperation, indicating that the partnership between Kazakhstan and CITIC Group goes beyond specific sectors, encompassing various areas of economic development and growth.
As the leaders of both nations meet to discuss their common interests and future collaborations, Kazakhstan continues to strengthen its economic ties with China. The sustained and fruitful dialogues between the President of Kazakhstan and Chinese business leaders reaffirm the unwavering commitment of both nations to foster robust bilateral relations and contribute to regional and global economic development.
