Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is set to embark on a significant visit to Beijing from October 17-18. He has been invited to participate in the third international forum known as "One Place, One Road" by Chinese President Xi Jinping, as reported by the President's press service.
The agenda for this landmark summit is packed with key priorities, focusing on the further development of trade and economic cooperation, the strengthening of transportation and communication interdependence, sustainable "green" development, and the promotion of digitization programs. Moreover, it seeks to address various other pertinent international issues. The forum also presents an opportunity to assess and summarize the major accomplishments achieved in multilateral partnerships over the past ten years, while charting out new objectives for future cooperation.
A significant highlight of President Mirziyoyev's visit is his scheduled keynote speech at the plenary session of the forum. During this speech, he will articulate his perspective on current international cooperation issues within the context of the "Space and Road" initiative, underlining the importance of this initiative on the global stage.
The visit's program also includes talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Wang Huning, along with several other bilateral meetings. These meetings underscore the diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and China and represent an opportunity to foster collaboration on multiple fronts.
It's worth noting that this visit comes after President Mirziyoyev's state visit to China in May, during which he participated in the first-ever "Central Asia-China" summit.
