A new remote customs control system has been implemented at local airports, according to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports. This innovation reduces the time spent crossing the state border by three-fold.
Besides, aviation security officers will now check hand luggage, freeing passengers from repeated forms of state control. Customs officers will be invited to check if goods restricted for export or exceeding maximum standards are identified.
Inspectors will monitor passengers through surveillance cameras and analyze flight information without additional contact or movement restrictions.
Cameras installed around the terminals’ perimeter will allow real-time monitoring.
Passengers and their hand luggage will be inspected if customs regulations are violated or at the direction of the risk management system.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Uzbekistan Airports introduced a new system to organize vehicle arrivals at Tashkent-3 domestic terminal. The system includes three lanes for official airport taxis, tourist buses and minibusses, and cars staying up to 5 minutes. The forecourt reconstruction is scheduled to be completed in August, per Cabinet Resolution on April 17, 2023. Uzbekistan Airports aims to reconstruct the forecourts of all Uzbekistan international airports by January 1, 2024.
