In July 2022, the Ministers of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan signed a Roadmap for cooperation in the farm sector during the first meeting of the Ministers of Agriculture of the Organization of Turkic States.
The Roadmap aims to enhance cooperation in areas such as agricultural insurance, digitalization, state support, and joint ventures in sericulture. The two countries also collaborate on cultivating hazelnuts, seedless pomegranates, silkworm cocoons, and cotton.
The successful implementation of the first electronic transportation of dried and fresh fruits from Tashkent to Baku airport via the International Road Transport System (eTIR) in 2023 is a testament to the growing cooperation.
