Yazguly Mammedov has been relieved of the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan due to transfer to another job.
The decree was signed by Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports.
Mammedov had headed the country's diplomatic mission in Tashkent since 2018, and before that represented Turkmenistan in Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia and Thailand.
Turkmenistan ranks eighth among Uzbekistan's trading partners, with mutual trade totalling $363.5mn from January to May 2023.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has switched to direct energy purchases from Turkmenistan, and cross-border trade has intensified. Last year, trade turnover between the neighbouring countries reached $926.3mn, five times more than in 2017.
