As of July 10, 2023, the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market in Kazakhstan has released information regarding several banks' liquidation and media reports.
In particular, nine banks have been reported to be in liquidation, including Currency-Transit Bank, Kazinvestbank, Delta Bank, Eximbank Kazakhstan, Bank of Astana, Qazaq Banki, Tengri Bank, AsiaCredit Bank, and CapitalBank Kazakhstan.
These banks have revoked their licenses and been liquidated on different dates, from December 26, 2006, to June 25, 2021.
Currently, 21 second-level banks are functioning in Kazakhstan, with nine banks in the liquidation process.
The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has declined 13 applicants for senior bank positions at the second level since the start of 2022.
It has been disclosed that 49 businesses are currently operating in the securities market. Additionally, the Agency has declined to approve 10 candidates for senior employee roles since the beginning of 2023.
