In 2022, Kazakhstan achieved notable success in attracting foreign direct investment to its economy, with a total of over $6bn invested, media reports.
As per a report by the United Nations, this has established the country as a prominent destination for investment in the post-Soviet region and among landlocked nations.
The Central Asian region as a whole has witnessed a total investment of $10bn over the past year, with Kazakhstan receiving 61% of this total.
Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Georgia, Belarus, and Latvia have also received significant levels of foreign investment.
In 2022, Kazakhstan saw an increase in foreign direct investment, with a gross inflow of $28bn. This marks a 17.7% increase from the previous year's results of $23.8bn and is the highest level of FDI the country has seen in the past decade. The previous highest level was in 2012, with FDI reaching $28.9bn.
