Uzbekistan's Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, and Saudi Arabia's Minister of Investment, Khalid al-Falih, have had a video conference to discuss enhancing bilateral cooperation in investment, trade, and economic sectors, Dunyo reports.
The meeting reviewed current and future joint projects in various industries, including energy, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, medicine, infrastructure, and tourism.
The two ministers agreed to execute effective energy, health, education, water, agriculture, and infrastructure development programs, with the support of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD). They also discussed promising projects for advancing "green" hydrogen in Uzbekistan.
Both parties have agreed to expedite the execution of ongoing investment projects and work together on new ventures.
Saudi Arabia and Uzbekistan have had diplomatic relations since 1992. The two countries have engaged in economic cooperation, particularly in energy, trade, and investment. Additionally, both countries share an interest in regional stability and combating terrorism.
