On the eve of International Children's Day, the children of employees of the Tashkent metro, the Toshshahartranskhizmat company and the Ministry of Transport had an excursion at the Tashkent airport. The Uzbekistan Airports Handling workers told them how the passengers and luggage are checked in before being delivered on board of the aircraft. The ground handling agents explained how passengers go through passport control and security screening.
The Silk Avia staff, based in the capital's airport, told the children about one of the world's most popular short-haul aircraft - ATR 72-600. The workers explained how the plane takes off, the passengers’ capacity, the function of the propellers, why the aircraft flies around the mountains and the time it takes to reach Samarkand from Tashkent.
The airport management plans to organize a series of tours in June for children so they will have a better understanding of the airport operation system.
