Tashkent. The Uzbek-German forum held by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan invited the tour operator from Germany and the media. Uzbekistan Airport press service reports.
At the first plenary session, Ruslan Nurislamov, the deputy director of Silk Avia for business, representative of Uzbekistan Airports delivered a congratulatory speech before noting the passive inbound flow of tourists.
"Unfortunately, Europe occupies a small portion of the total volume of air transport routes passing through the airports of Uzbekistan. Direct flights to European cities are operated only by Uzbekistan Airways, and transit transportation through Istanbul is performed by Turkish Airlines.
The only European company that operates passenger flights to Uzbekistan is the Hungarian low-cost carrier WizzAir. At the moment, there are 108 weekly flights from Tashkent to European cities, 14 from Samarkand, 12 from Urganch and 4 from Bukhara," Nurislomov said.
According to the results of 2022, the largest number of tourist groups came to Uzbekistan from Germany (17,700). Uzbekistan Airports believes German cities may galvanize the inbound visitors from Europe. France was in second, and Great Britain is in third place.
The forum participants agreed to further develop cooperation in the exchange of tourist flows.
