Uzbek Ambassador Kadambay Sultanov recently met with the newly appointed Latvian Minister of Economy, Ilze Indreksone, in Riga. The two sides had an extensive conversation about intensifying trade and investment and scientific and technical partnerships between the two countries, Dunyo reports.
The Minister of Economy praised Uzbekistan's accomplishments in implementing reforms and strengthening regional cooperation in Central Asia.
Ilze Indreksone expressed interest in further expanding their cooperation with Tashkent and announced the Latvian Investment and Development Agency office opening in Tashkent to promote trade and investment cooperation.
The parties also discussed upcoming contacts between economic agencies and groundwork for the next Uzbek-Latvian Intergovernmental Commission meeting and Business Forum.
