On the occasion of International Happiness Day, which is celebrated each year on March 20, the United Nations has announced the names of the happiest countries in the world. World Happiness Report ranked Finland as first for the sixth time in a row, with Denmark being placed second, and Iceland closing the top three.
From the ninth place, Israel rose to fourth this year. The top ten include the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and New Zealand.
Uzbekistan ranks 54th in the global ranking of 137 countries.
Russia went up ten places from last year and reached 70th place. The United States ranks 15th, France at 21st place, and Ukraine is 19th.
The most unhappy countries were Burkina-Faso, Namibia, Turkey, Ghana, Pakistan, and Niger.
The UN announces the world's historical level of happiness every year. GDP per capita, social support, life expectancy, freedom to make life choices, generosity, and perception of corruption among the populace are compared to dystopian standards and then ranked accordingly.
