As of March 1, 2023, the gold and FX reserves of Uzbekistan amounted to $34bn, experiencing a decrease after a three-month rise, the regulator reports.
Reserves decreased by almost 2 billion dollars compared to last month. They mainly consist of gold and hard currency. Both decreased in February:
- Currency - decreased by $1.2 bln dollars (total $10.1 bln);
- Gold - increased by $716.6 mln dollars (total $23.56 bln).
Until February, Uzbekistan's gold and FX reserves were increasing for the third month in a row. This was due to the fact that gold prices began to rise during this period.
