The Central Bank of Uzbekistan presented the review of business sentiment for 4Q22.
During the period under review, the percentage of those who reported that business conditions and the environment improved compared to the previous quarter in Uzbekistan decreased and amounted to 45 percent.
The business conditions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Jizzakh, Navoi, Namangan, Kashkadarya, and Tashkent regions were higher than the national average.
The share of entrepreneurs who noted that energy consumption increased was 41 percent (compared to 40 percent in 3Q22).
The demand for labor in the majority of entrepreneurs decreased compared to the previous quarter.
Also, 32 percent of business representatives (20 percent in the III quarter) noted that they could not fully operate because of bad weather and interruptions in the gas and electricity supply.
In turn, business representatives reported an increase in the number of job seekers during the quarter.
In the studied period, the debt loads of entrepreneurs (credit and interest payments) remained almost unchanged compared to the previous quarter.
In general, most business representatives assessed the current monetary and credit conditions as neutral.
