More than 260,000 people visited the exhibition "The Splendors of the Oases of Uzbekistan. At the Crossroads of the Caravan Routes", Saida Mirziyoyeva has informed on her Telegram page.
"Today, I cannot contain my joy, the feeling of pride for the great history and culture of my country, which has aroused great interest in the world community. The facts show that - "The Splendors of the Oases of Uzbekistan. At the Crossroads of the Caravan Routes" which was opened on November 23, 2022, at the famous Louvre exhibition in Paris, was visited by more than 260,000 people. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone who helped make this exhibition a reality. This is the product of great work done by specialists from Uzbekistan and France," - Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote.
American scholar who translated the novel ‘O’tgan Kunlar’ (Eng.: ‘Bygone Days’) by Uzbek famous writer Abdulla Qodiriy has earlier shared his views with Daryo about the exhibition.
He said: "As I consider Saida Mirziyoyeva’s successful implementation of the ‘The splendors of the oases of Uzbekistan. At the Crossroads of the Caravan Routes exhibition’ in Paris, my thoughts inevitably move me to the principle that the Arts and Humanities represent the bedrock of public diplomacy, the outward expression of the Uzbek people to the world. I say implementation because that is exactly what she has done: many people have good ideas; few can give them tangible form. What must happen first of all is to convince another nation that does not suffer mediocracy in the Arts to host such an exhibit. Then the relentless engagement over four years to make it happen is an achievement that cannot be overstated—it is the hard work of diplomacy, doing the work no one wants to do."
